We’ve just added new class dates for the Fall 2013 schedule: two new Beginner’s dates, Tuscan Steps, Plumeria, and a new Coloured Pencil class from Eileen Sorg (twodogstudio.com). The project hasn’t been decided yet but Eileen’s classes are always very popular and fill quickly, so if you’d like to learn how to create photo-realistic art using coloured pencils don’t miss out!
We will be adding new classes to the schedule by September, including a handmade Christmas wreath class in early December, so be sure to check back regularly or sign up for our newsletter to receive updates in your inbox!
Also keep in mind the studio will be closed for the summer June 12, though Jackie will still be checking phone messages and emails over the summer if you have any questions or would like to sign up for a class.
Beginner’s II is a brand new workshop Jackie has developed as a continuation of the Beginner’s Program. It’s also great for new students who have painted in the past but want to brush-up on their skills before taking another class offered at Tiggy’s. If you’ve taken classes at Tiggy’s before, haven’t painted in a while and would like to start taking classes again but don’t feel you need to re-take the Beginner’s Workshop, Beginner’s II is the perfect refresher course.
Jackie has been painting-up-a-storm the last couple of weeks, and as a result we have added two brand-new classes to the schedule: a Beginner’s II Program and Crystal Peony.
The Intermediate class is for those students who have taken a few classes at Tiggy’s and have painting experience, but would like to brush up on their techniques. The Intermediate Program will focus on advanced colour theory and colour mixing, as well as new brush techniques. Students who have taken Beginner’s and would like to practice their painting techniques more before taking one of the regular classes at Tiggy’s would also be well-suited for this class.
Jackie also painted a new piece for Beginner’s, based on the popular Red Door class. All Beginner’s Program classes from now on will use this piece, which allows students to practice a variety of brush techniques and colour mixing.
Be sure to call or visit us if you’d like to sign up for a class!
Keep in mind that even though many of our classes are currently full we can add you to our waiting list to be contacted if there are any cancellations. We also use the waiting list as a guide to decide which classes to run repeats of and will contact those on the waiting list first with the new dates (before it’s even posted on the website!).
“Asparagus” is a piece Jackie painted for last month’s Open House, but it wasn’t added to the schedule due to the demand for repeats of already-scheduled classes. Now that Jackie is planning the Spring schedule she’d like to get your feedback on the piece, to decide if she should include it in the schedule or not. Since we haven’t yet posted an image of the class on the website, we thought this would be a good opportunity.
So what do you think? Would you be interested in taking this class? If so please call us at (604) 541-8322 or email us at firstname.lastname@example.org and let us know (you can also leave a comment below!). If we get enough interest we will be adding it to the schedule, and will be contacting those who expressed interest in the class first to inform you of the dates.
We’ve added more class dates for our most popular classes: Sunflower #2 and White Rowboats. We’ve also added a new Open Class date in April if you have your own design you’d like to paint but want some guidance from Jackie. There’s still space left in the Plumeria class in March, the Beginner’s Program in April, the Open Class in April, and the Sunflower #2 class in May. All our other classes are currently full, but if there is a class you are interested in please call or email to put your name on the waiting list for that class, as we will add more class dates based on how many people are on the waiting list (and will call you first once we add more dates).
We will be adding more class dates into May and June so please check back often as the site will be updated when new classes are added. You can also subscribe to our newsletter if you’d like to get updates in your inbox, but do keep in mind we will update the website more often than we will send out newsletters.
Many of you expressed interest in seeing the finished Plumeria piece, and it’s now on the Classes page. The finished canvas is also in the studio as of today, so come in to take a look in person if it’s piqued your interest; paintings usually look even better in real life than on a screen! If you’d like to register for this class you can do so in the studio or by calling us (leave a message if the studio is closed and we will call you back), or if you prefer email be sure to leave your phone number so we can call you for a deposit.
In case you haven’t noticed, we’ve renovated our website! It’s now even easier to navigate and tablet-friendly. We’ve added a new Tiggy’s News page that will be updated regularly to keep you informed of what’s happening at Tiggy’s, as well as a FAQ page that answers many frequently asked questions we get at the studio. We’ve also added an Art Supplies page that lists the supplies we carry (but be sure to call us ahead if you are looking for something that isn’t listed!). Hope you enjoy the new site, be sure to let us know what you think!
The talented Eileen Sorg is back to teach another amazing coloured pencil class (be sure to check out her website twodogstudio.com to view her cool portfolio), and we’re bringing the Red Door back as well thanks to popular demand (check out our Gallery of previous classes and if you see one you like, let us know–we just might bring it back too!).
We’ll be adding more dates as classes fill up so be sure to add your name to the waiting list if the class you want is full.
This Saturday, February 2nd, we will be hosting Cahoia Silver at the studio. Jackie will be donating her hostess proceeds to the Zimbabwe Gecko Society.
Drop in any time between 11am and 3pm to see Cahoia’s amazing collection of beautiful meditation and semi-precious stone silver rings.
Hope to see you then!
Tiggy’s at crescent is located at 12185 Beecher street in Crescent Beach, South Surrey.
