Painting While Social Distancing! :)

To my dear students:

Well, we are still unfortunately in the position of not being able to gather for a painting class at Tiggy’s (or much else, actually!).  But that doesn’t mean we can’t paint at home!

Here at Tiggy’s we have lots of painting supplies, ordered in preparation for spring classes – paints, brushes, and canvasses too!  We can also make up painting instructional pattern packets to order.  Just check out our Gallery Page on the website and email to inquire as to cost, place an order for supplies, and arrange for a no-contact pick-up at the studio!

Until we are able to meet again, stay healthy, and stay safe at home.

Spring 2020 News!

I am hoping that this email finds you healthy and happy, even if you are self-isolating!

Covid19 has come to pretty much define our existence at this point.  Because of it, the Zimbabwe Fund-Raising Garage Sale has been postponed until further notice.  Thank you to all who have been saving their donations for this very worthwhile cause, and hopefulIy  I will be able to give you a re-scheduled date soon!

I will be sending another email very shortly to let you know of some exciting new classes soon to be on the Tiggy’s website!

In the meantime, stay safe, stay healthy, and, as always, happy painting!

News!! and New Classes!

Hello to all my amazing students!

We have 3 brand new classes on the website for the winter season.  ‘Newfoundland’ is a colourful rendition of an iconic Maritime landscape – fabulous sky and background techniques.

Stallion II (Buckskin)’ is painted with a loose, painterly, watercolour technique and incorporates an interesting background application.

‘Poppy Field’ is a fast, fun and colourful quickie!  We will finish this one in just a couple of hours and ANYONE  can do it, even if you haven’t completed a Beginner’s class!

There will be more new classes coming for April, May and June…stay tuned:).

The Zimbabwe Gecko Fund-Raising Garage Sale will be held earlier this year since Susan will be going to Africa in April to oversee many of the projects she has been fundraising for.  Mark your calendar for April 4!!  And save your donations of gently used housewares, clothes, books, appliances and other goods.  Deliver them to the White Rock Baptist Church gym (at the back) located on 140th Street just north of 16th Avenue on Friday April 3rd from 4:00 pm.

Lastly, I have a request.  It seems that many students are not receiving emails I sometimes send when information needs to be communicated before class.  If this happens to you, please check your spam folder and mark any emails from Tiggy’s as ‘not spam’ and add us to your ‘safe’ list, or contacts.  Thank you!!

Hello to all of my wonderful students!

I hope you have all been enjoying our fabulous summer, but are looking forward to getting the paintbrushes dusted off once again :)!

We have a few new classes on offer that we hope you will enjoy!  Pink Tulips is a lovely loose painterly style easily finished in 1 fun day!
Daytime Tugboat is a great companion to last season’s Nighttime Tug, and painted in the same layered technique!
Sunday Morning has such a lovely relaxing feel to it and is my new favourite!
Abstract Blue Floral will appeal to the more impressionistic of you, and the colour palette is beautiful!
There are also spots available in the Course in Colour Mixing….an absolute must for those of you who wish to paint independently!

If the class you want is full, please do not worry, as we will be adding new sessions soon.  Just let us know by filling in the Class Request Form and we will call you when they are re-scheduled!

Looking forward to seeing you and catching up soon!

Just a quick mailout to let everyone know that the huge Zimbabwe Gecko Garage Sale is happening this Saturday, April 27th!

As always, we will gratefully be accepting donations of gently used clothing, household items, books, small appliances, toys, craft items, etc. etc. on Friday from 2:00 pm till 8 pm, at the back of the White Rock Baptist Church located at 1657 140th Street.

And then please come on Saturday from 8:00 am till 2:00 pm and shop for some great bargains, or enjoy one of Sue’s delicious hamburgers, hot dogs, or homemade pumpkin soup!!  It’s all for a great cause, supporting widows and orphans in Zimbabwe.

Hope to see you there!!

For more information, check out Sue’s website,

We have just added 2 new classes to the tiggy’s website, and more are on the way soon!  The Modern Floral would look gorgeous in just about any decor, is a fabulous class in colour mixing, and may require some homework to finish.  The Seascape is an awesome beginner piece, using all of the supplies and paints from your Beginner kit with just a few additions and would make a lovely gift.

Spots fill quickly.  Please let us know if you would like to be on the Wait List for any class that is filled, or if you would like to see one of our old classes repeated.
